Time Management

Two weeks have already come and gone in the New Year! I remember my grandmother used to say back in the 1980's that time flies by faster each year. Before you know it, January will have come and gone and February will be here. Today's short blog post is about managing time more effectively.

Time management experts share that setting a schedule for your work on a calendar is the most effective way to organize your day. I created such a planner several years ago.

I divided the week into days and hours. On the far left side of the landscape page is a wide column marked Weekly Schedule. Under this column I placed Roles and Goals and an area of white space to jot down notes. I also set an area with some empty blocks for Weekly Priorities. The next column towards the right has empty blocks for Today's Priorities.

I start my week on Sunday and run through Friday. I left the Sabbath column empty as I am a Seventh-day Adventist Christian and I do no work on the Holy Sabbath Day. I begin the time blocks at 08:00 and end at 20:00 or 8pm for people that are unfamiliar with the 24 hour time format.

Having a weekly planner like the one I created helps me list what appointments or commitments I may have that week. I can then schedule activities that I do in my business. One other effective tip I learned is to set a timer for 30 minutes and dive into a work project and do not get distracted while working on that task. You can keep repeating the timer and this process will help you manage your time better.

Goal Setting

Six Keys to Finding the Right Home Business

Being able to go to sleep every night realizing I have shared a reputable and respected company is the only way to live.

Our company is global and has seen incredible growth overseas in Africa, Europe, and Russia. People in Africa that have been living off of $400 a month have created another income stream that is changing their lives. Some of the largest distributors in the company live in Russia. North America is a huge market that allows for people from all different backgrounds to grow an income with the Club.

Here are some of the keys to finding a good business to work from a home office:

1) Does the company charge to join as a Member or have an annual fee for being a distributor? Is there a yearly website fee? Whole Wellness Club charges no hidden fees and you can join the company for free and begin earning commissions within 15 minutes of establishing your member account.

2) Does the company have products or services that are in demand? Will people order the products and services over and over again thereby setting up residual income similar to income earned by cable companies, insurance agents, and telephone companies? Yes, people in my organization have ordered products since joining my team in 2007. I still earn residual income from the very first sales I made back in 2007. Our products give people remarkable and noticeable results.

3) Is there a barrier to earning income with the opportunity? Whole Wellness Club has set up the narrowest matrix to allow average people to earn income in a simple 2 x 4 matrix. You only need to sponsor 2 active members to earn income in your matrix. The matrix keeps expanding as you fill it.

People that have never earned money in network marketing are earning anywhere from $100 to over $5,000 in the Club. Many people are just happy to earn enough to get their products for free. Many companies cannot make the claim that their distributors or affiliates are getting their products for free.

You can also build a large customer base of Preferred Customers and never work the Network Marketing side of the business in the Whole Wellness Club. Go out and over time establish 50 and then 100 customers and earn 20 percent of their monthly business volume. Once you have a customer base of 500 customers, you will have a large monthly commission payment coming into your account. You have a natural health foods product business and you have the advantage of not having to pay for warehousing products or leasing a storefront. The company will drop ship products for you.

4) Does the company ask for your Social Security number or federal EIN number before you have earned any income? NO. The owners of the Club are only required to submit W9 or 1099 Independent Contractor forms to the IRS if you have over $600 in earnings.

Marketing Channels

Goods and services exchange hands every single day in the world economy. Companies use several channels to move their products and services. I am going to briefly cover the three channels that I use on a regular basis.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is a channel that a company or individual uses to sell products and services. The affiliate advertises and promotes the product or service both online and offline in exchange for a percentage of the sale or commission. The amount of the commission is agreed upon when the Affiliate applies to the company or individual on a contractual basis. The affiliate is NOT an employee. Once the sale is made, the company will pay the commission either one time or on an ongoing basis depending on the agreement with the company. Some subscription services affiliate programs can pay residual income as long as the customer continues the subscription.

Direct Sales

Direct sales is the process where a company gets its product or service directly to the customer. There are direct sales reps that earn income by promotions that target consumers. Many companies use direct sales with home party plans. Tupperware has used home party sales to get its products directly to customers for decades.

Marketers like me also have products and services on websites where a customer can make a purchase via a payment processor. I use Pay Pal for my customers orders. The customer purchases the product off my site and pays through their Pay Pal account. I receive an email of the transaction and then either ship the product out of my inventory or drop ship it from my supplier to the customer directly. I strongly suggest being involved with companies that will allow you to drop ship and NOT be required to stock any inventory. I keep a certain amount of inventory on hand after analyzing the amount of demand from my customers.

Network Marketing or Multi Level Marketing

Depending on who you talk to, Network Marketing is a scam or the greatest distribution model ever invented. Thousands of companies are turning to Network Marketing because the company can grow rapidly without having to market or advertise their products or services. The company instead pays a distributor that builds a network of consumers. This frees up companies to concentrate on the core business of having the best product or service in its category and allows for the marketing discipline to be handled by eager distributors.

Robert Kiyosaki is a well known author of the book: Rich Dad, Poor Dad. He made a statement that most people go to work for employers every work day. Entrepreneurs build networks. Every person has a network. Networks include people you went to school with, friends, social contacts, community contacts, and business associates. It is common knowledge that a well connected person has at least 200 people show up at a memorial service when the person dies.

In the 1930's, Wachters introduced a sea vegetable to consumers via Network Marketing. This company began during the Depression and is still in business as of 2012. Wachters paid distributors commissions for the network of consumers that purchased Wachters products. Many other companies have successfully used the Network Marketing channel to get their products and services to the end consumer. Why is Network Marketing a smart business model?

Network Marketing pays residual income. When a person goes to work for an employer, they are trading time for an hourly salary or set amount of money. When you build a network of consumers you can earn monthly commissions over and over again as long as the customer continues to purchase the product or service. A good example of residual income is an insurance agent or the internet service provider you are using. These companies get paid over and over again as long as you continue to use their service or product.
